Julie is a managing associate in the Intellectual Property practice group. She works on a variety of intellectual property matters, with a focus on trademark counseling and litigation.

Julie conducts clearance searches, prepares and prosecutes trademark applications, represents clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, monitors third-party compliance with enforcement efforts, drafts contracts that concern or implicate clients’ intellectual property, assists with copyright registrations, and manages domestic and global IP portfolios. Whether related to acquisition, enforcement, commercialization, or maintenance, Julie tailors intellectual property counseling to align IP strategy with business objectives. She also advises clients on trademark filing decisions and strategies for intellectual property acquisition and protection.

Prior to joining the firm, Julie worked for five years at a boutique intellectual property law firm as a law clerk, counsel, and associate attorney. She has also served as a contract specialist for a publicly traded contract research organization that serves the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device industries. In that role, Julie drafted and negotiated contracts, including clinical trial agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and letters of indemnification. Julie’s experience also includes serving as a judicial extern in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

Julie is an adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati, where she teaches Media Assets and the Law. She holds certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a Certified Information Privacy Professional - United States (CIPP/US).
